Hyundai i20 N line

I assume it’s too expensive,” is the maximum not unusualplace response to the fee of the brand new Hyundai i20 N Line, or for that matter, each range-topping hatchback that movements a long way past the appealing base version fee. Maxing out at Rs 11.seventy five lakh (ex-showroom), the i20 N Line may also make you query simply how a lot you need 30 percentage greater damping to your ride, while you can have a Mahindra XUV700 for approximately as a lot. But extra isn’t usually better; it simply isn’t that simple. If it were, ours could be a marketplace of especially reasonably-priced and green Tempo Travellers. Hyundai thinks it has the proper blend of top class and sporty functions to heat up the marketplace for a brilliant destiny with its new heat hatch.

Hyundai i20 N Line is a really sportier i20. At our recent N-Line press event, Hyundai took great care to temper our expectations for the premium hatchback. Changes have been shared. This review also needs you, the reader, to calm down. Yes, Hyundai entered the World Rally Championship with the i20, and yes, there is a faint resemblance to their rally car if you squint, but this
is still a budget hatch as far as the world is concerned worried. The Korean automaker has retained the 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that runs in the regular i20 and in the same mood: 118PS, 172Nm. That's enough for a small petrol engine, so I wouldn't rate it negatively.

30 percent more damping for the suspension, a stiffer steering feel and a fruitier exhaust note with dual tips. Paddle shifters, not available on the standard i20, were also added for the dual-clutch transmission-equipped model. Add to that the myriad of cosmetic details of the
. These include dark leatherette seats, contrast stitching, red accents on bumpers and aprons, spoilers, red brake calipers and more. They all add up to a surprisingly cool looking car without looking extra.

Interior:

Familiar and sensible just like the i20, with a few pop
As one could expect, the i20 N Line is equal in phrases of indoors extent to the usual i20 however makes allowances for the boy-racer with a darkish theme, N Line-branded leatherette seats, purple accents at the sprint and specific leather-wrapped tools shifters for each iMT and DCT variants. The seats are alternatively nice, with outstanding in shape and end for the leatherette. The i20 has constantly been a capacious hatchback to journey in, and this stays the case with the N Line. Rear legroom is right and three-abreast seating is viable with out a lot discomfort. The boot, at 311 litres, is likewise sensible

Starting with the suspension, increasing damping by 30% is a claim we can't prove. Are you feeling stiffer? Yes but only a little bit.
Handles deftly and does not wallow; Perhaps that's the compromise that's been made: It's still soft and comfortable, but flatter at the creases. We didn't experience any knocking or rattling on the rougher stretches of road, which is admirable. Four-wheel disc brakes are a relief and worked well in our testing. The streets of Rajasthan are full of cattle and stray dogs and sometimes we had to hit the brakes. The stops are without drama, although there is a lack of sensation.

Verdict

The Hyundai i20 N Line is available in three versions: N6 iMT, N8 iMT and N8 DCT. All variants are equipped with a wide range of safety and comfort features, so that no one misses out, regardless of the choice. a hot hatch? No, it's warm at best, but a lot warmer than the competition, of which there's very little. The Fiat Punto Abarth was a strong competitor but unfortunately, like so many others in India, this brand has retired.
The N Line is a car that's fun, tastefully decorated and high quality enough that you won't have a problem taking it to work or an event on fancier wheels.
At a premium of Rs 50,000 over the standard top-end i20, the dynamic aids make the N-Line worth the money. like dumb money but at some point as a market we need to go beyond Rs 5 lakh hatchbacks with the minimum feature set. Hyundai appears to be putting its money on a strategy that goes beyond the sub-4m hatchback category
